Import your Charles Schwab holdings

Earnings Bird can build your watchlist from Schwab's positions export so you don't have to search for every ticker by hand. The export is a CSV of your current positions, available from the website.

1. Export your positions from Schwab

  1. Log in at schwab.com on the web.
  2. Go to Accounts → Positions and pick an account (or the all-accounts view).
  3. Select Export near the top right of the positions table and save the CSV.

If your export covers several accounts, Earnings Bird combines repeated tickers automatically, whether the file lists them in one table or in per-account sections. If anything looks off, exporting one account at a time always works.

2. Upload it to Earnings Bird

  1. Open your dashboard and start adding a stock.
  2. Switch to Bulk add mode.
  3. Select Import your broker's CSV export and choose the file you downloaded.
  4. Your holdings fill the box. Review the list, remove any you don't want, then add them.

What Earnings Bird reads from the file

Your privacy matters here, so this is deliberately narrow. The CSV is read entirely in your browser. Only the resulting stock symbols (and company names) are sent to Earnings Bird to build your watchlist. Your position sizes, share counts, prices, and dollar amounts are never uploaded. They're used only on your own device, then discarded.

What gets skipped

  • Cash rows and account totals (like "Cash & Cash Investments" and "Account Total").
  • Option positions. Earnings Bird tracks stock earnings, so option rows are ignored.

Class shares are handled for you: whether your file writes Berkshire class B as BRK/B, BRK-B, or BRK.B, Earnings Bird matches it to the standard ticker automatically.

A stock is missing. What happened?

Check that the row exists in your exported file and that its symbol is a plain US ticker. Funds and non-US listings can appear in the review list but won't get earnings report dates. You can always add anything by searching for its ticker on the dashboard.
