Import your Fidelity holdings

Earnings Bird can build your watchlist from Fidelity's positions download so you don't have to search for every ticker by hand. Fidelity has one of the cleanest exports of any broker: a single CSV of your current positions, downloadable in a few clicks.

1. Download your positions from Fidelity

The export lives on the website, not in the mobile app:

  1. Log in at fidelity.com.
  2. Go to Accounts & Trade → Account Positions.
  3. On the Positions tab, select the Download icon near the upper right of the table (on newer layouts it sits inside the "..." menu there).
  4. Save the file (it's usually named Portfolio_Positions with the date).

If you have several Fidelity accounts, one download covers all of them: the file lists every account's positions in one table, and Earnings Bird combines repeated tickers automatically.

2. Upload it to Earnings Bird

  1. Open your dashboard and start adding a stock.
  2. Switch to Bulk add mode.
  3. Select Import your broker's CSV export and choose the file you downloaded.
  4. Your holdings fill the box. Review the list, remove any you don't want, then add them.

What Earnings Bird reads from the file

Your privacy matters here, so this is deliberately narrow. The CSV is read entirely in your browser. Only the resulting stock symbols (and company names) are sent to Earnings Bird to build your watchlist. Your position sizes, share counts, prices, and dollar amounts are never uploaded. They're used only on your own device, then discarded.

What gets skipped

  • Your core cash position. Fidelity marks it with asterisks (for example SPAXX**). It's a money market fund, not a stock, so it's excluded.
  • Pending activity rows and the disclaimer text at the bottom of the file.
  • Option positions. Earnings Bird tracks stock earnings, so option rows are ignored.

A stock is missing. What happened?

Check that the row exists in your downloaded file and that its symbol is a plain US ticker. Mutual funds can show up in the review list but won't get earnings report dates, since Earnings Bird covers US-listed stocks. You can always add anything by searching for its ticker on the dashboard.
